I don't care how long one has been playing darts, but I think from time to time everyone needs to read the by-laws. Refreshing yourself is a good thing. I have been playing darts for a long time and yes I am returning after five years, but I know the rules haven't really changed.

I have a few complaints about my last match, but I won't share them here. What I will do when we play the team again is to point out things they did in the by-laws, that they shouldn't do. My team plays for fun, we know what we are doing, so I don't need another team treating us like a bunch of rookies. One of my teammates was surprised that I sat back and let things go as they did. Told her I was tired but I should have done something. I do apologize to my team for not doing anything. Next time I will look out for my team.

That is the best course of action; telling the team that they are doing something wrong. A lot of teams don't know or have new players and it is up to all of us to make sure that these players are taught correctly the rules of the game and sportmanship.

If you are having more issues, bring them up to your division secretary and they should be able to talk to the captain(s) to make sure that everything is cool.

Have a great season, glad you are back.

Most of the captains know the bylaws. Anytime u have an issue during the match, it is best to talk with the opposing captain. Most issues can be settled during the match. If the issue can't be resolved during the match, you should talk with the DS ( Div. Secretary.). The bylaws are a guideline to follow, but sometimes players overlook certain areas ( ie: strict adherence to the " 9 warmup darts rule.). Guess it depends on the situation. Not sure of the details, but I will help in any way I can.

Afraid this one can't be taken up with the DS.
