Puff's Benefit was a Huge Success!

As Always, Thank you all for the outstanding support for a player's family in need!

The benefit was a Huge success...at close of last night, the actual benefit raised over $3000.00 to be donated to the memorial fund at Wells Fargo to help offset the final expenses for Puff!

The turnout was incredible! 66 players played in the dart tourney! The amount of food donated was awesome! The raffle prizes were great and the support from the players even greater!

A Big Round of Applause to all those that made this happen in such a short time! Thanks to the Hellraisers for such a wonderful successful event! Thanks to Rat & Marilyn for cooking all the meat, Thanks to Corie and Carol for overseeing this event, Thanks to Krista for running the brackets, Thanks to Ck and Buddy for the outstanding entertainment, and Thanks to Shuckers for having us! Mostly, thank you to all of the dart family for your support! This could not and would not have been as successful without each and every one of you! Thanks to ALL!

The support is greatly appreciated by the family of Puff and your generous contributions will help significantly with their expenses.

On behalf of my brothers and all those who cared and loved Jimmy, I want to extend my deepest thanks to everyone who participated in the benefit tournament this past weekend. Your kindness and generosity is a huge help to us during this trying time.

I sincerely wished I could have been there in person to witness the show of support and love, because I know that Jimmy was loved by all those who knew him. Many of you were like family to him and the camaraderie and fellowship he enjoyed in the leagues, at tournaments, and just about any time he picked up a set of darts was one of his greatest joys in life.

Way back when Jimmy, myself, and the original Hellraisers began playing darts together, we discovered a social scene that on the outside may have seemed like so many other things in life that are mere diversions. But as we quickly found out, that scene was populated with intensely connected, deeply loving, genuine people who came together for much more than a night of competition or a break from the workweek. The more we played, the more that network grew and the more we felt as if we had stumbled upon something rare and powerful.

Jimmy taught me—many of us, really—a lot about love and generosity is his brief, but vibrant time on this earth. A huge number of those lessons took place in the proximity of a dart board, with the jukebox blaring and the beers flowing. And many of those memories include the same familiar faces I know were there at his benefit tournament. So again, I thank you – not merely for coming out and showing your love upon his passing, but for providing him a place of acceptance, genuine friendship, spirited competition, and laughter. I think it’s easy for many of us to say we were lucky to know him and his great nature, but he was indeed lucky to have known all of those he met at and around the toe line.

I know that he will not be forgotten among those who threw with and against him and, if he were here, he would sincerely wish you all lifetimes filled with more triples than troubles, bulls a-plenty, and easy outs.
