Joe Hefley aka "Grizzley" was diagnosed with Lukemia in early January and was hospitalized immediately. He is currently undergoing an extensive 30 day 24/7 chemo treatment. He has had to have several blood transfusions and will have to have many more as time goes on. The cost of each pint of blood is increasing the already stressful bills of the treatment and hospitalization. Giving blood is a great way to help out and reduce some of their expenses.
We are asking the FWDA and TX Dart Association Members to rally this cause and give blood. Gather your famiy and friends to do so, as well. Blood can be donated nationally through any blood bank affiliated with the national blood exchange program.
It has to be documented at the time of donation to Joe "Grizzley" Hefley at Plaza Hospital Fort Worth, TX.
Joe is a long time FWDA member and has been a founding member of the soft tip TX Dart Association.
The Hefley family needs our help with blood donations, financial contributions, and prayers.
The benefit tourney scheduled for Feb 20th, Saturday, conflicts with the Austin Dart Tournament. We are asking if you are going to Austin, please send or drop off donations to the FWDA, TX Darts, or Black Gold Sports Bar.
Please take the time to donate blood and gather your friends and family to do so, as well. This free donation could save the Hefley family thousands of dollars and help the mounting medical bills.
Joe cannot have visitors at this time. He is not allowed flowers. His immune system is very fragile and they are trying to keep him safe during this extreme treatment.
Thank you all for your help! Every effort is greatly appreciated by Joe and Shelly! She is able to stay with Joe in his room and help take care of him and keep him company. She needs our support and our prayers!
